About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Wring from life every ounce of experience

ABOUT ME

I'm in my final few months of medical school at the University of Sheffield. I am 25, but feel I've racked up some decent life experience. I love travelling, and have now been to every continent apart from South America and Antarctica.
My travels have been for many reasons, from running a marathon in the Arctic circle in Finland, Honeymooning in Thailand, visiting friends in Australia, climbing in Italy and Tanzania, conducting research in Rwanda, learning in Israel and many more besides.

visited 33 states (14.6%)Create your own visited map of The World

When I travel I like to see people and their lives, not just buildings and beaches.

PHILOSOPHY

Do as you would be done by.
Try and help, because what is there to lose?
Be the best you can be, and don't be afraid of failing.
Seize every opportunity.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Happy to host and keen to stay.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed in London, Ontario in Canada a few days before my wedding. Hoping for a night out that would rival one in the city's English namesake, I was somewhat dissapointed with the nightlife. However, I had a great experience with our host - a multimarathon running yoga instructor. We swapped running stories and I was bowled over by his generosity and kindness.

I've also hosted, welcoming an Australian film producer coming to Sheffield for the international documentary festival that the city hosts. We had really interesting discussions, and I learned about an industry I knew very little about.

Interests

Running, climbing, hiking, = the outdoors.
Also different cultures, reading, learning.
I played the cello regularly, although haven't brushed the dust off for too long. I also give the guitar a go.
I enjoy hearing people's stories.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have an eclectic taste in music, from Dvorak to dubstep. I've seen BB King and Counting Crows in the same week.

I like books that make me think or make me laugh, or preferably both.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seen the sun rise over Africa from the summit of Kilimanjaro,

Run a few marathons

Teach, Learn, Share

the best way to learn is to teach.
A human is made with two ears, two eyes and one mouth - use each proportionately.
