ABOUT ME

Ok so Johnny (22) and I (Amanda-21) have been a couple for just over 5 years now. We both attended the same Secondary School and share many of the same great friends. As much as we both love Scotland, we LOVE to see all the other great places that are out there. Johnny's travel bug hit him when he took part in the World Challenge Mission to Peru with the school. For Amanda it all started as a Highland Dancer with the Margaret Rose School of Dance where she would travel abroad atleast once a year representing Scotland at Folklore Dance Festivals. Together we enjoy meeting new people from different cultures and walks of life. What better way to do this than to take a gap year from our working lives and go backpacking round South East Asia and Australia. We are both happy, friendly people and love chatting to others and sharing our experiences.

We are currently trying to see as much of a Australia as we can. Sadly we are not rolling in cash at the moment as we are typical backpackers (avoiding pasta as much as possible) and have limited cash. But that is not getting us down. We have been doing plenty of fruit picking within Australia and that has kept us going just fine.

We consider ourselves as easy people to socialise and get along with. Amanda is very good at filling in any silent gaps,lol. Overall we enjoy life and what it has to offer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We are new to this couch surfing thing but have heard excellent feedback from other CS so we are excited to try it out.

Interests

Johnny is into his football (soccer) his prefered team being Glasgow Rangers. He has been trying his hand at rock climbing recently and he also enjoys a friendly game of pool at the pub. Amanda is Celtic all the way much to Johnny's distress but it's all good banter. I was very into athletics and netball when I was at school but my big passion was Highland Dancing. It took me all over the world and I did really well at competitions. I haven't totally retired as I do still try to attend classes when I'm at home.

Music, Movies, and Books

I (johnny) was not really into books when I was at home but, since I've been away travelling I've been really into Bill Brysons books. Amanda prefers her true crime books. She loves her gangsters.

Music wise, we are both into Indie music including Kings of Leon and Blocparty although Amanda does admit she loves a bit of cheesey pop when with the girls.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Johnny's travel highlights would include the 7 day trek to Machui Pichu and that amazing sunrise. The Great Barrier Reef was a fab adventure that we both enjoyed. Oh and Fraser Island, that was a fantastic trip to the largest sand island in the world! To be honest, there is too much that we could put in this section. Best way to hear it all would be to meet us and hear it first hand. We are still only in our early 20's so all we can do is add to the already lengthy list of countries.

Teach, Learn, Share

As a travel agent, I believe I am pretty good at passing on travel advice. If I've been to a country that you are interested in going to also, then I will happily tell you everything I know about the place. Ask as many questions as you like as I don't get bored easily. Since Johnny is a tradesman he is also good at doing the odd job around the house so don't hesitate to ask. We loves to help out.
