Overview
About Me
I was born and raised in Paris, France.
I am an assistant director for film and series. I really enjoy my job as it is rather nomadic and allows me to see and discover new places every day.
I am travelling from Paris to Sydney on my motorcycle.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My girlfriend and I are riding through Asia for a year. We do not necessarily need to be hosted but we love meeting locals to share stories, meals and drinks.
Couchsurfing would give me the chance to share those moments with locals, meet interesting and like-minded people that will hopefully enjoy sharing their stories and experiences with me.
Interests
Like most of us out here, I love to travel, meet people, share stories and try the local cuisine. Learn about the culture, and live like a local. I am not really into the big landmark sightseeing and tours. I prefer to roam around in the cities, visit local markets, eat and drink with the locals and engage in local festivities.
I am passionate about photography, if you are curious, find me on Instagram @rickelmos.
I'm a good driver and I really love road trips, as well as riding motorcycles. I also like hiking and camping.
And for me, the best way to end the day is by sharing a nice meal and drinks with people.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
Ok, that's a difficult one because I'm very eclectic... I love a lot of things from jazz to rock, from classical to Chilled Lo-Fi . If it is a good song, it works for me. But if I had to pick a few : Pink Floyd, The Doors, and a lot of 70s rock for more current bands I'd say The War on Drugs, My Morning Jacket, M83 and Tame Impala!
Movies: Aronofsky, Tarantino, Nolan, Miyazaki just to name a few...
Books: A personal favourite is Shantaram, then all things Tiziano Terzani, Hunter S Thompson, Kerouac...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Leaving Paris for London when I was 17 was probably the best thing that could happen to me. It made me into who I am today, introduced me to what it felt like to live in a different country, with a different culture. It made me fluent in English and got rid of my cheesy French accent. ( No pun intended )
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you what I know about photography, tips on traveling or even English and French.
I've tried Yoga for the first time in Portugal some years ago and I'd love to learn more!
*Sidenote, I would like to point out that I am very bad at dancing but I dream of dancing Salsa in Cuba. So any tips would be much appreciated*
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm a good cook, and I love doing so for people, so if you want me to cook for you, please feel free to ask and it will be a pleasure doing so.
I love photography and I'll be more than happy to show you some of the pictures I've taken during my travels.
