I am a proud single dad of an amazing 19 year old son who is my best friend. I have been blessed to have started traveling at a very young age, getting to go live for 90 days in Peru when I was only six, retracing the different villages my parents helped when they were in the Peace Corps for 2.5 years before they had any children. I later was an Ambassador under President Reagan to seven countries in Europe on a special program originally started by Dwight D. Eisenhower.

I studied for a year in Copenhagen, Denmark, studying International Business and later returned to work for a Billion dollar health and nutrition company all over Europe, but maintaining a home base in Denmark, my home away from home.

I later moved to Thailand for work and eventually got married to a Thai woman because she kept getting denied tourist visas, so we were forced to turn a dating relationship into a marriage, but we are still dear friends to this day.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am the type to pull over and ask people if they need a ride, even when they aren't hitch hiking. I have always let people stay in my house, one guy for seven months (that was almost a social experiment), and have been lucky with great experiences. I have also been put up by the most generous people all over the world and I have ventured out alone on purpose, because it opens the door for more amazing experiences I have discovered. I love meeting new people and sharing stories. Learning about the nuances of a city that only the locals would know about.
