About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I quit my job in May, and promised myself I won't look for work for twelve months . . . . so now I'm looking to make the most of it!

Update: I did it, and I made it eight months before I returned home and started working again, but in those eight months . . . man did I make some lasting memories. I have a small place now, but would love to share it, and stories with like minded travelers.

FAVORITE QUOTES

There is no way to peace. Peace is the way. --Mahatma Gandhi

Not all who wander are lost. --J. R. R. Tolkien

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

In the strictest sense (via this website) I haven't yet, but I would like to. I think I have the right outlook, personality, and expectations. I am active, curious, inquisitive, compassionate, and easy going middle age white guy.

I'd like to (need to, really) learn from other like minded folks who have "gone before" and lived the life I am so aching to live.

Interests

road biking, kayaking, hiking, meditation, singing, deep conversation, and of course travel!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Trip to Ireland with my son and crouching right on the edge of the Cliffs of Moher was pretty spectacular.

Trip to Spain with my daughter and wandering in the spendor of the Sacrada Familia. I walked in skeptical about Gaudí's "natural" architecture, and walked out amazed.

Trip to Italy with my Dad and kids and sharing meals with my Italian relatives. Enough said there!

Quitting my job . . . . . and here I am!

What I Can Share with Hosts

A story, a song.

I'm also very open to helping with small projects. I'm pretty handy with tools.

And of course I'd help with any cooking and cleaning up.

Countries I’ve Visited
