Overview
About Me
I'm a 32-year-old living in Berlin, Germany. I'm a bit of a new traveler, and I'm figuring out how to see the world and learn about other cultures respectfully.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I couchsurfed for the first time in Summer 2013 with a couple of guys in Seattle after sending out a cry for help on Reddit. It was an amazing way to experience the city, and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to meet some locals and see it through their eyes.
Now, 11 years later, I'm traveling a lot more, and I'm doing a lot of that travel solo. It's lovely to meet more people and learn about the places they call home, and share my own experiences, as well.
Interests
I spend a lot of time playing rugby and getting my bearings in Germany. I'm currently learning German (B2), but I miss French and Spanish and really love languages in general. I like to run, and I'm excited to get back into weight lifting. I also really want to learn more about backpacking and hiking!
Strangely, I consider myself an armchair economist and enjoy listening to economics podcasts and learning about things like personal finance.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - I have a Spotify playlist called "Giving Me Life" that has my favorite music on it. Right now, I'm in my Eurovision pop era, with songs like Europapa, Cha Cha Cha, and Training Season making appearances.
And, of course, you'll find my favorite bands, Vulfpeck and Von Wegen Lisbeth.
For movies and books, I read lots of nonfiction, and some literary fiction by the likes of Hemingway, Bukowski, etc. In the past couple of years, however, I've developed a strange love of gay, urban sci-fi/fantasy. The books aren't good, exactly, but I'm obsessed.
I like going to the movies, and I particularly enjoy a dark comedy. My favorite director is probably Yorgos Lanthimos, so if you've seen The Lobster, The Killing of a Sacred Deer, or The Favourite, you probably know what I mean. Still waiting to see Poor Things!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I ran my first marathon in 2019, which is something I never thought I would do. :P
Teach, Learn, Share
I have a wide range of interests from music, to languages, to gardening, to politics. In general, I consider myself a pretty wide-ranging and respectful conversationalist, and I love to learn from others and talk about the things I'm currently learning.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'd love to buy you dinner and/or bring some German snacks, and talk about any aspect of American culture that you find interesting!
