About Me

If there's something you specifically want to know, just ask. I'm pretty much an open book about everything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I first heard about CS through a friend. I was having a personal crisis and she remembered that a good friend of hers had gone through something similar. In her case, she ended up Surfing for a year and it helped her through her crisis and changed her life. She found her purpose. After being at my own crossroads last year I decided to pack up my car and surfed my way from the East Coast to the Southwest. I met some great people along the way and made a friend for life.

Interests

Adventuring. Mindfulness. Genuine connections. Paying it forward.

"Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on Earth." - Muhammad Ali.

Music, Movies, and Books

To Name a Few Books:
-The Anatomy of a Calling
-Name of the Wind
-Mind Over Medicine
-Writing to Change the World
-Non-Violent Resistance (Satyagraha)
-Finding Your Way in a Wild New World
-The Secret Garden
-The Alchemist
-The 13 Original Clan Mothers
-Townie
-The Gravity Of Us
-The Lakota Way
-Earth Medicine

I jump between a lot of books at once. I read what I feel drawn to read until I don't and I move onto the next until I'm drawn back to it or away to a new one. They all get finished in their purposeful time.

Music:

I listen to music based on my mood and how I feel. Sometimes my soul simply needs silence. My taste varies from Tibetan Singing Bowls to 3 Doors Down to Sia to Brad Paisley to Immortal Technique and Tech9 just to name a few. You can't define me by my taste in music.

Movies:

Almost anything EXCEPT horror and gore. I will not watch anything close to those two categories. And yes, I'm probably the only person in America that does not watch The Walking Dead.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm still amazed that in setting out to overcome a crippling fear of natural bodies of water, I went cliff jumping and rappelled down a waterfall in Jamaica.

Teach, Learn, Share

Stories. I LOVE hearing people's stories. It's such a personal and intimate presentation of who and what we are. Hearing someone's story, whether in person or in a book, is something I honor and respect very deeply and it just makes me happy! In turn, I am happy to tell mine. We're all so unique, similar, and different all at the same time. It brings us to a new level of understanding that bridges the gaps of exclusivity and separation just a little bit more. Realness excites the hell out of me! The more you can truly be you, the more I can truly be me, and that's where magic happens. If you have tattoos I wanna know the stories behind them!
