Always on the search of knowledge - you might find me learning new thing or two - either candle-making, mosaic building, making new recipes, watching classical movies from the 40s - 80s, road-tripping, camping, also really love scrapbooks, psychology and looking into Working Holiday visa opportunities elsewhere. I like to listen and share stories - as wealth, for me, comes from memories and experiences of sharing moments with others. I reaaally want to learn more about hammocking (or camping tips and tricks), making wine, playing guitar, dancing (bachata or salsa) and just being an open book to all the experiences!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet the locals and get to know more about the world and the culture I am exploring/inhabiting. Plus - I just really enjoy a company and learning more about others.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - I listen to different genres, there is not one specific I like over the others. It would depend on the situation, but listen to classical; meditation music (when I need to focus), jazz (listen to it when cooking) - and the rest, pop, electronic (Tobu; Kygo are my favorites in that department), rock, also metal. Current favorite band of mine - HAEVN.

Movies - I like sci-fi movies, historical, biographical, comedies, animated ones and drama (depending on the story). Either Shawshank Redemption, Avatar, Good Will Hunting, Happy Feet, Back to the Future trilogy etc. I am a fan of Godzilla movies (yup - going back to the man in the costume ones' too). Might be tough to choose movies I like, but favorite actors are Hugh Jackman, Kristen Bell, Robin Williams, Bradley Cooper, Tom Hanks, Morgan Freeman and Will Smith.

Books - this is definite sci-fi, horror (not necessary the gory kind, I prefer the ones that set the terrifying atmosphere without having much violence - like the Metro series), but one of my favorites is a Latvian book "Blizzard of Souls", depicting Latvian soldiers in the 1st World War. Currently on a Terry Pratchett Discworld spree (on my 3rd book).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Must be my volunteering activities I took part in as a student! Either helping out new exchange students get a grip on the city and what to do, and assisting at an animal shelter and helping out abused or abandoned dogs to feel a bit of joy till new families come to pick them up!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Definitely conversations (love discussing about many things) - as I am a novice diver, I would love to learn more about the ocean! But I love cooking and baking various cuisines from around the world (while I do love to check up some recipes from time to time, as I tend to forget some ingredients, I try to give it my best to make it as good as I can)! Perhaps someone needs assistance with volunteering activities once in a while? Helping to plan out events?
