About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Share thoughts and stories with new friends and explore the world.

ABOUT ME

I'm 31 years old woman living in Jyväskylä, Centre-Finland. I like art, cats, nature, books, going in music gigs and travelling. I'm a good cook and I love to bake. I'm dreaming of old small wooden house with a beautiful garden. There I could offer tea and muffins for my friends and passer-byes. I am open mind, joyful and honest girl with warm heart. I like travelling because meeting new wonderful people and having new experiences. Spending time in new places far away from your home teaches you who you are and what you appreciate in life.

PHILOSOPHY

During past five years I've been interested of zen-Buddhism. I don't have any needs to live my life by some certain philosophy but zen-Buddhism has taught me a lot. One monk has said that he doesn't feel that everyone should turn to Buddhism but everyone should learn the right values of being human being. Those values are being honest to yourself and others, respect every living being and stay calm in difficult situations. I have read two books of zen-Buddhist writer Brad Warner. In the end of his book Zen Wrapped in Karma in dipped In Chocolate (2009) his message was: "For every moment do always the best for the moment". The writer has a nice sarcastic humor -that explains the name of the book. Doing the best for the moment also means living without pointless rush and focusing on the things you do.
Human and animal rights are very close to my heart. I don't eat any factory farmed meat. Nature is very important to me so that's why I try consider it in my every day life. I don't like unfairness between people. Helping and being kind to others brings sunshine to your life!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I could tell two best couch surfing memories what I have. In summer 2012 where traveled around Europe with my friend. We spend two nights in Linz, Austria. Our host was wonderful, wise and helpful woman called Anna. Anna lived with her kids and man in neighborhood where are lot of children. The parents had to go some meeting so me and Teemu had to took care of the kids. It was an interesting and funny experience because Teemu doesn't speak any Germany and mine isn't ether that good. We spend about six hours playing costume plays with kids. Teemu's task was having fun with kids and I took care of the baby. We didn't have some much experience of kids before show I was happy how good everything went.
Other nice memory of couch surfing is from Pivka Slovenia. We hitch hiked from Ljubljana to Croatia. Some happy guy gave us a ride from Ljubljana to Pivka, near the Croatia's border. Me and my friend start to be hungry and thirsty. I asked the driver could stop in some store. His answer wasn't so clear so I was wondering what's gonna happen. Finally we're in Pivka where our driver lives with her girlfriend. To our surprise her had prepared a fantastic meal for us. Soup, home made wine, salad and coffee with calvados for dessert. I was very touched by their hospitality for stranger.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In the Summer 2012 we did a five weeks European tour with my friend. It was an awesome adventure. The best part of that trip was meeting new friends and seeing beautiful landscapes and old cities. I remember our lovely hosts with warm heart. Now me and Teemu are planning a new European trip for the summer 2017. Any cool tips are welcomed!
On the spring 2007 I was doing voluntary work in Bradford England. It was an EVS' (European Voluntary Service) environment program. The slogan of the hosting organisation was Everything is Possible! During the voluntary time I realized that everything can really be possible if you courage to follow your dreams. :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I have done art since a little child. I love colors and painting is a very relaxing way to spent time for me. I mostly use aquarell or oil colors. Doing croquis is also fun! Croquis is a portrait of made on just few minutes. Maybe we could have an painting or drawing sessions?
As I told before I study to be an stage builder. Our school is very versatile. I have learned something about metal and wood works and also surface finishing. So if your apartments or some old furniture needs some polishing, I might give a lesson! :) Or we could do some hobby crafts: jewels, cards... I love to cook and bake. It would be fun to learn your secret receipt! I have a dream to move to Germany during the few years. So Germany lessons would be very welcomed!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Norway, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden
