About Me

My name's Rik. After a student exchange to Prague i got passionate about travelling and exploring new things. I have a thing for adventure and the freedom you experience when you are at a new place or country.

You could describe me as a passionate, driven, kind person. I have a genuine interest in people and in how the world works, and like to get to know new people. New stuff gives me energy, which is a reason why I enjoy meeting people who travel. I'm a strong believer in the fact that life is short and lived in the moment, and that it shouldn't be taken too seriously..:-)

Currently I am traveling through Central and South America. Besides exploring the continent and having fun, two goals for this trip are to learn spanish and learn how to surf!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Ive found that staying with a local makes travelling more interesting. He or she can introduce you to cool places, the local culture and share the rich life they have there, which helps you understand what the place is really about.

I'dd love to meet some local people during my trip to get to know them, share stories , have broken spanish conversations and surf!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Initiated, coordinated and spoke at a one-day seminar on personal development for young men. The other six speakers were friends of mine and I spoke on self esteem. Being able to share our knowledge with so many people felt amazing.
