About Me

Hey, I'm Rik, free, open minded, interested.

*Crazy barefoot hippie on the loose*

Just a few keywords:
Live, love, share, care, laugh, dance, joy, discover, uncover, learn, grow, connect, bond, create, manifest.

I'm into yoga, meditation, philosophy (mostly Hindu), psychology, healing, nature, music, science and way more. Interested in anything that helps people grow and connect with themselves and others.

I'm working as a web developer for a really nice ticketing company: Chipta. Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for people to organize events. My rational and logical mind serves me well in programming and I really enjoy my work.

I love a lot of different kinds of music, but mostly old music ;). I play guitar, mostly gypsy jazz/old jazz/swing/finger picking/blues. I also love a lot of electronic music like psytrance or more chill-out downtempo stuff.

I like cooking (vegetarian). And traveling of course, I like to explore different cultures, history, philosophy. I'm also an avid barefooter.

- If you worry about something, do something about it, and if you can't do anything about it, don't worry about it.
- Be the change you want to see in the world.
- The only way to experience love is to give it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined Couchsurfing because I wanted to travel more and try out life as a digital nomad. I first started hosting people in my house and I really enjoyed that, meeting all kinds of cool interesting people from all over the world, sharing experience and wisdom. As I was hosting I became more and more exited about travelling, learning lots about it from the surfers that stayed over. Now I'm going to travel together with an amazing soul that I met along the way. You really never know what life will bring you.

Music, Movies, and Books

Of course I listen to all kinds of crazy music, but here are some genres I like:
Old Jazz/Swing/Blues/World/Psytrance/Chillout

Some favourites: Django Reinhardt, Frank Zappa, Chet Atkins, Louis Armstrong, Eddie Lang, Jimi Hendrix.

I like mantra singing too.

Always try to read more books but I'm not always succeeding. However YouTube is a great source for a lot of interesting things. I watch a lot of lectures/documentaries about topics like spirituality/health/science/technology. I also love movies although not watching so much at the moment.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I do amazing things all the time

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm open to any kind of sharing and exchange of good vibrations. Love hearing how everybody thinks about things. How different people live. What makes them laugh, what makes them cry. I can share my love and a good laugh.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to cook for people. I can always help with computer stuff. If you have a guitar in the house I will play a nice tune for you :).
