ABOUT ME
I would assume that I'm an open-minded, thoughtful and warm person, who is sincerely interested in other peoples' (world) views, ideas and opinions.
At times, I can be joking a lot (also at my own expense).
I enjoy a cosy atmosphere and long conversations - preferably with good food and a glass of wine ;-)
PHILOSOPHY
"Life is not about finding yourself - life is about creating yourself!"
George Bernard Shaw
"The most dangerous world view is the world view of those, who haven't viewed the world."
Alexander Von Humboldt
"Si vous pensez que l'aventure est dangereuse, je vous propose d'essayer la routine¦ Elle est mortelle."
Paulo Coelho
"I am more and more convinced that our happiness or unhappiness depends more on the way we meet the events of life than on the nature of those events themselves."
Wilhelm Von Humboldt
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Until recently, I've only been hosting people at my place in Amsterdam and I very much enjoyed to meet other couchsurfers, play host & help people out with a place to stay.
This summer I finally go travelling myself again and I'm incredibly curious about surfing other people's couches...
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've met amazing people through couchsurfing and I think that projects such as couchsurfing help to fight prejudices, xenophobia and racism
Interests
Books, travelling, languages & cultures, listening to music, meeting friends, cooking & eating (of course), films, soccer, meeting new people and long conversations about everything under the sun.
On vacations, I like to wander around (in order to see as much as possible and "get a feeling" for the place) or go hiking (in the Scottish mountains, for example). I also like the water - swimming, diving, canoeing,...

Teach, Learn, Share
I might be too humble to praise myself as a multi-talented person and/or good teacher. Haha.
As for myself, I'm really interested in learning about other peoples' thoughts, ideas, experiences, worldviews. I know far too little about politics but I'm curious to learn more about it.
