About Me

My name is Rikke. In autumn 2018 I sold all of my things and became a long-term traveller (this is also the reason I cannot host).

I have always travelled a lot, mostly backpacking and the last couple of years also long distance walking and now cycling.

No matter how I am travelling (backpacking, walking, cycling etc) then I prefer slow travelling. What is important to me is the people I meet and to experience nature.

I love being close to water because I love the energy from the waves etc. For me especially the Atlantic ocean is amazing because it is so powerful.

During spring, Summer and early autumn I mostly sleep in my tent.

At the moment my plan is to cycle through Israel.

As a person I am an introvert, so I am not an outgoing party person, but I love having nice long conversations about all sorts of subjects.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to meet new people and learn about other peoples perspective on thinga.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most crazy thing I have experienced was sitting in a car in Kenya that literally drove into an elephant (thanfully and most importantly nothing happened to the elephant)

I walked along the Atlantic Ocean from Arcachon Bay in France to Cabo de Sao Vicente in Portugal (and continued walking)

I met a local Kenyan guy in a public bus in Kenya. We started talking and several years later I stayed with him and his wife and daugther for 3 months.
