About Me

I grew up in Perth, Western Australia which is "the most isolated city in the world" - it is closer to fly to Bali than other Aussie cities 🤣 To make up for this, I've lived in Canada, Japan and America on study exchanges. For the last few years, I have been working in remote locations and Indigenous communities in the Northern Territory as a doctor. In my spare time I love getting outdoors and exploring. I'm very lucky to have grown up in a family that loves to travel so I have been all over the world.

We'll definitely be able to find something in common as I enjoy a huge range of things like reading, hiking, cooking, adventure activities (skydiving, bungee jumping, scuba diving, paragliding etc), lazy mornings drinking tea, boating, camping, psychology, motorbike rides, naps at the beach, trying traditional or unusual foods, trail running, live music, aimless strolls, jumping off waterfalls, bonfires, thought provoking quotes and road trips :)

2022 I travelled solo in South America, 2023 was Asia and Europe (and New Zealand!). On this trip, I'm planning several months in Central America and then see where I end up. I would love to meet people, try the local cuisines, stay active and spend as much time in the great outdoors as possible!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As someone who has travelled solo in several countries including Myanmar, Mexico and Thailand, I love meeting locals through couch surfing. Before I had even heard of couchsurfing, I hosted 2 German backpackers at my house in Perth, and several years later stayed with them in Berlin. It's a much more genuine experience compared to a hotel which can be quite isolating, and a nice break from the hostel scene (though I've spent my fair share of time in 8 bed mixed dorms!). Am happy to be as independent or part of the household as my host wants.
