About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To contiue to learn and grow and spread the love

ABOUT ME

I am an old boy now - being 50 although I still find it hard to reconcile this fact. Luckily my outlook retains a bit of childishness and a sense of fun. I appreciate the beauty in the world and in the people my path crosses. I've lived in Edinburgh for 20 years and it still manages to surprise me, with its beauty.

PHILOSOPHY

Live life in the now.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love hosting when I can. I have met so many brilliant people, people whose paths I'd have missed if it weren't for this network. Looking forward to surfing more.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We all have had interesting lives and therefore have experiences and tales to share and I have love hearing my surfers stories and sharing my own.

Interests

Music, films, books, documentaries, comics, people, places, history, astronomy, philosophy, playing cards, whisky.

Music, Movies, and Books

I try to go gigs when I can and bands seen this year include Nightingales, Kiran Leonard, the Wave Pictures, Man of Moon, Sleaford Mods, Tuneyards, etc. Recently started playing the guitar again and have formed a band called Sinister Lamb. You can find us on FB Soundcloud etc.
Books and authors I've read recently include all the Donna Tartt books, The Illuminates, Eleanor Catton, A couple of years ago I started trying to learn magic tricks and can now do a few card tricks. I have a growing playing card collection.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When in South Africa my brother and I were so lucky to see a leopard. We were driving through a safari park heading back to camp for the night, our last night on safari, and the only animal of the big 5 we had not seen was the leopard. Amazingly, this beautiful she cat just walked in front of our car for about 1/2 kilometer, shaking her ass at us as she walked. Wowzer.
