About Me

I moved back to my home state of North Dakota to live with and take care of my grandparents. When I'm not hanging out with them and watching jeopardy I'm running around the town, hanging with friends, catching live music at the local brewery, volunteering for nonprofits, hanging at the farmers market and digging into the community. Before I moved to Bismarck I spent the last 7 years going to school, working, volunteering, cooking, baking, running, exploring, and living in San Luis Obispo. I am preparing for a transitional period of my life as I wait to hear back from graduate programs I've applied to for nursing and midwifery. Depending on if get into a program I will either be moving to a brand new city to pursue my schooling or taking a gap year! I grew up in California but was born in the Midwest and spent some of my childhood in Colorado.

I'm passionate about social justice. I'm borderline obsessed with food (preparing and consuming). I adore going to movies. I can talk about music all day. I think story telling is one of the most powerful tools on this planet.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I plan on doing a fair amount of traveling and want to take advantage of this awesome resource. Community is extremely important, and it's always nice to have a way to build community even if you are passing through a town.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have an appreciation for most music! I am really into R&B and jazz right now but appreciate most genres and recommendations from others who are passionate about what they listen to.

Some of my favorite reads are Like a Mother, Americanah, Seven Fallen Feathers, This Much I know is True, Cutting For Stone, A Thousand Splendid Suns, Milk and Honey, Virgin Suicides, Middlesex & so much more!

I try to go to the independent theater for discount night as much as possible- it's a rad little theater. Favorite movies include Call Me By Your Name, Into the Wild, Lion, In Brughes, Moonlight, Lars and the Real Girl, Frances Ha, Pride and Prejudice, Moulin Rouge.

I also love podcasts! My favorite is The Moth, I also listen to Radio Lab, TED radio hour, Story Corps, and This American Life

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my favorite experiences I've had is hiking the Dolomites in Italy with some of my best friends.

Teach, Learn, Share

Always willing to learn, and listen to people's stories. I am thinking about really working on my Spanish so speaking with someone who is fluent would be helpful!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share very positive energy, my story, advice (if wanted), laughs and smiles!

Countries I’ve Visited

Croatia, England, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Spain
