Overview
About Me
Hi! My name is Riley Lindberg and I am a 25 year old from Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
One day, my dream is to open a small, sustainable business of some kind (perhaps an eco-friendly hotel/restaurant, an organic farm... or maybe a combination of all three).
My main passions are people, community and the outdoors. I love making new friends, trying new things and building deep friendships! In my spare time, I love to hike, cycle, swim, ski, listen to music, read books and go on adventures. I can't wait to share some of my stories with you and hear about yours!
In life, I think it is so important that we connect with others, learn about different cultures and live with a spirit of generosity. For this reason, I think the philosophy behind couch surfing is wonderful and can't wait to open up my own home one day!
Can't wait to meet you!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am on couchsurfing for a number of reasons.
Firstly, I think that as humans, we are meant to connect with others and to share what we have. I think that couchsurfing allows people to connect in a way that money can't buy and to build friendships that will last for a lifetime!
Secondly, I love meeting new people and am so eager to experience different cultures, outside of my own. I think that couchsurfing provides both hosts and surfers with an invaluable opportunity to meet, connect and interact with people from all over the world and from such wonderfully diverse cultures and backgrounds!
Lastly, as I am a student, travelling on a very tight budget, couchsurfing allows me to travel for longer and see more, which is amazing!!
Interests
My list of interests is practically endless!
I love travelling, exploring, and meeting new people! I love books, movies and music! I love sports, art, history, culture and especially architecture! I love food! I love connecting with people and learning about their passions, culture and interests! I love nature, hiking and camping and I especially love that feeling you get inside when you see or experience something that you could never have dreamed or imagined!

Music, Movies, and Books
I love all types of music, movies and books and am very keen to hear about your favourites as well!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was in Grade 6, my class at school made a film adaptation of Mary Shelley's novel Frankenstein. When we were finished, we showed our film at one of the local movie theatres in Calgary. Amazingly, someone who watched the movie that night, came up to my teacher and said that it was quite good and that we should try submiting it to a few film festivals, and see what happened. My teacher liked this idea and decided to submit our film to the New York International Film Festival. Incredibly, our film was selected, and the panel liked it so much, they moved it from Children's Section, to the Short Film Section (alongside a Woody Allen Film). This is my claim to fame haha
