About Me

Hey there! I'm a 28-year-old guy traveling and farming around this big beautiful country. I've been living and working on farms for the past three years and have lots of crazy stories to tell from my experiences. Turns out cows and chickens and pigs make for some pretty great story material. My focus is on growing vegetables and flowers, though I've worked an awful lot in goat dairy, poultry processing, and vending at farmers' markets. During my free time (which farming doesn't allow for much of) I'm all about movies and music, and in another life I dreamed of being a filmmaker before somehow falling into my vagrant farming career.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Above all else, to meet people -- fellow travelers in particular, and those with hearts warm enough to take a risk on helping someone they don't even know.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Tree of Life, Jurassic Park, There Will Be Blood, The Assassination of Jesse James, Days of Heaven, Fargo, Badlands, Lost in Translation, The Godfather I & II, The Lord of the Rings, The Thin Red Line, The Shining, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Apocalypse Now, Blade Runner, A Clockwork Orange, Requiem for a Dream, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Paris Texas

My music taste is a bit eclectic so I imagine we could find at least one genre to agree on!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveled around Ireland for a month during which time I hitchhiked from the west coast to the east in one day, climbed and camped on the blustery slopes of Mt. Brandon, hiked the Dingle Way, rode a bike full-speed down the Gap of Dunloe, and ate more curry chips than you can imagine. Also spent 10 months milking goats, which is much more amazing than it sounds.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I've got a growing wealth of stories from my hitchhiking experiences, and if you're ever interested in trying it out for yourself, I can give you some hard-earned advice. I'm also mostly a vegetarian, though I do occasionally eat a bit of the ol' meat if I'm confident it was treated well up to its death.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, France, Guatemala, Ireland, Mexico
