Overview
About Me
i'm a nonbinary queer (my pronouns are they/them), a software engineer, a street artist, a visual poet, and adventurer. i've often got at least one knitting project with me, and i'm always learning new creative skills. i write long letters and dream big dreams.
if yr interested, you can see more of my art on my instagram: instagram.com/riles.makes.art
i am more likely to wake up at 6am to take a walk around the morning light than be out late partying, i rarely drink alcohol (though i'm more than happy to be around folks enjoying a few drinks), and i don't smoke.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
i've been a member of Couchsurfing since 2007, and i've both hosted and traveled. i'm very interested in the sharing community, and i think this intentional form of building community is necessary to be able to heal some of the difficulties of the world we live in.
this year, i am leaving the security of my own home and regular work for a long term adventure around the world, with a focus on making and sharing art, and meeting new people and learning about their cultures.
i would love to meet other artists in new places, whether street artists or not, and connect with the wider creative community.
couchsurfing is an intentional community of travelers sharing space with each other around the world. it is not simply a free alternative to air bnb, and i do not treat it as such nor will i host people who do. if you're requesting to stay with me, please mention a book that you have read and enjoyed, so i know you've read my profile (and i'll get cool book recommendations!)

i can practice yoga with you, help out in your garden, or leave you some of my poetry stickers or other handmade art.
What I Can Share with Hosts
i enjoy cooking, and i'd be happy to make you a home made meal (and clean up afterwards). i'm tidy, can be quiet, fun, and i'll leave your space just as good as i found it (or better!) we can hang out if that's your thing, or i can be independent and just appreciate having a friendly place to sleep in a new town.
