About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To move in my first house

ABOUT ME

Intuitif, penseur, adaptable

PHILOSOPHY

I live to learn, and socialize. After reading a couple chapters of Einstein's "How I view the world", i realized that his stance on cosmic religion fitted with my current view of my future.

I didn't come to this world to live hard and die young. I want to explore the world and experiment life until my face has shriveled to a pitiful mess.

I am not a religious person. I gaze in awe at the great complexity of the world, but I know deep down in me that this beauty comes from my mind, and that the world is not the result of some sort of divine creation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In early 2012, we hosted quite a bit of couchsurfers, but things have slowed down since I'm not home as much as I used to. We have 5 couches so there is plenty of space for a group.

I'm trying to meet interesting people that are passing by in Rimouski, even if we aren't hosting them.

Interests

Music, Movies, and Books

The cinema class that I'm taking in college pushes me to listen to more movies. I've never been a cinemaniac, but i'm trying to catch up and listen to the classics. So far maybe I've seen a couple of movies that I loved :
The Wall, Pulp Fiction, Cashback, Reservoir Dogs, MORE, music documentaries, sociological themed documentaries.

I can't get enough of music. Psychedelic rock, progressive rock, especially from the late sixties and seventies. I have a great deal of interest for the hippy culture so pretty much any woodstock/san-fran/family related music deserves a listen.

Some of my top bands are :
Pink Floyd and their band members solo work (Roger Waters I'm looking at you!)
TGD (if you love TGD then we MUST meet)
the beatles
Santana's live performances
Ccr, van morrison, jefferson airplane, the doors, hendrix...

I listen to some contemporary music too but until I plowed through these old bands discogs, I don't bother too much with recent publications. I get my fix of modern music at summer music festivals and local shows.

I probably read an alarming amount of information for someone my age but that is mostly done on the computer or in reference books. Reading books has become more and more difficult for me as I struggle with adhd and my attention span for books went from slim to none. I will sit down and read the same paragraph a couple of times, before realizing that I'm not actually picking up any knowledge from it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Visiting breweries in the morning in Belgium with friends, and tasting freshly bottled fine brews made me fall in love with strong beers.

I played brass instruments (tuba and trombone) while high in school, won prizes with the school band.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you a thing or two about plants and trees if we go out for a walk. I'd love someone to teach me all about birdwatching.

If you want to teach me a recipe that you like, I'd love to learn it! We can go do the groceries and cook it with my roommates.

We can talk about music and share our favorite albums. Making musical discoveries is fantastic! If we are lucky, we can go to a hardcore show here in Rimouski! I love the music that surprises me, don't be shy to share your musical tastes, I download lots and lots of music, more than I can listen to anyways.

If you are a musician, then I can bring along some friends and we can jam for the night!
