Welcome to Rinjani Trekker! My name is Ismail, and I’m the founder of this small trekking company based in Senaru, Lombok. Originally from Senaru, I’ve spent the past years exploring and guiding around the stunning landscapes of South Asia, and now, Indonesia has become my second home.

After working in various beautiful destinations such as Gili Trawangan and Nusa Lembongan, I found my passion for trekking here in Lombok, specifically Mount Rinjani. With its breathtaking views, lush forests, crater lake, and challenging yet rewarding trails, Mount Rinjani quickly became my focus. I wanted to create a company that not only offers adventurous treks but also an authentic connection to the local culture, nature, and people.

At Rinjani Trekker, we offer personalized trekking packages to suit different levels of experience, from first-time hikers to seasoned adventurers. Our mission is to provide an unforgettable experience while maintaining respect for the environment and local communities. As a traveler and adventurer, I’ve always believed that the best part of exploring the world is the connections we make along the way. That’s why I joined Couchsurfing – to not only discover new places but to meet people who share the same passion for travel, culture, and meaningful experiences.

I’m originally from Colombia, and now I’m based in Lombok, Indonesia, where I guide treks up Mount Rinjani. Couchsurfing allows me to host travelers from around the world and give them an authentic experience of the beautiful places I call home. I love sharing stories, learning from different cultures, and offering a local perspective that goes beyond typical tourist experiences.

Through Couchsurfing, I hope to meet like-minded people, create lasting friendships, and build a global network of explorers who inspire each other. One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing things I’ve done is summiting Mount Rinjani for the first time. The trek was challenging, but the sense of accomplishment and the view from the top made it all worth it. Reaching the summit at sunrise, with breathtaking views of Lombok, Bali, and the surrounding islands, was a moment I’ll never forget. It was also the experience that inspired me to start Rinjani Trekker and share this incredible adventure with others.

Teach: As a guide for Mount Rinjani, I love teaching others about the mountain's unique ecosystem, local culture, and trekking skills. Whether it's sharing tips on how to pack for a trek, navigating trails, or understanding the significance of the local flora and fauna, I’m passionate about helping fellow travelers gain confidence and knowledge in the great outdoors.

Learn: I’m always eager to learn from the diverse experiences of the travelers I meet. Every person brings their own story, culture, and perspective, which enriches my understanding of the world. I welcome opportunities to learn new skills, such as cooking traditional dishes from different countries or hearing about unique travel experiences that inspire others.

Share: Sharing is at the heart of what I do. I enjoy sharing the beauty of Lombok and the joy of trekking with others, creating memorable experiences for both myself and my guests. I also love exchanging stories, laughter, and cultural insights with travelers, fostering connections that transcend borders. My goal is to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels like part of the Rinjani Trekker family.
