ABOUT ME

I am a 27 year old English/Brazilian/'American' on a bicycle trip down to my motherland of Brazil! I am very interested in learning to grow food, and one day see myself living off the grid somewhere with trees, plants, animals, and my family. In the meantime I am learning as well as giving back a bit to the places that I go through. I intent to stop and do volunteer work on organic farms at least once in each country I pass!

Aside from this I love meeting people, having good times, traveling, learning new cultures, jamming & playing music, making food & learning to cook new things, and all of what this life has to offer me!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing because I believe that staying with locals and making new friends is in most cases a much more enjoyable and rewarding experience than a hotel/hostel. It's great to arrive in a city and stay with people from the place who can show me a bit of what it's all really about. The locals know the good spots, they know people, they know the culture, they know other places that are good to visit. Of course I'm on Couchsurfing it's the best way to go!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music made between the 1960's and 1990's is generally my favourite. Reggae, rock, blues, jazz, funk, pop, psychedlic, Brazilian, latin.. There is contemporary music I like. Usually it's not the stuff you hear on the radio though.

I like many kinds of movies. Generally speaking I like independent, thought-provoking, emotion capturing movies. I like movies with story better than big bang and glitter. Documentaries are some of my favourites.

I love books. Not all books. But I love a good book. The kind I can just read and read, and not get tired of. The kind I get excited to pick up again, and the kind I feel a tiny bit sad when it's done.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In the past 2 years I've been living on and off a bicycle. First I cycled from Montana, USA to Nelson, British Colombia, Canada. Then from Vancouver to Northern California. I stopped in Fairfax CA where I lived with some family friends and worked for 7 months. Now I've currently been riding from Northern California to Brazil! I'm in Nicaragua and have quite a bit left to go. :)

Assisted my father teach Google how to shoot video with HDDSLR camera's at the Googleplex in Cupertino, CA.
