About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Find some sort of inner peace in a world full of turmoil.

ABOUT ME

I've received my verification code again now but I can't work out where to enter it! :(

I'm currently self employed and have been since I was about seventeen (on and off). I'm looking to continue that throughout university, which I start in September. I'm due to study philosophy, having been unsure on what I've wanted to study for years now. I'm definitely very glad that I didn't rush into a degree when I was eighteen because I certainly wasn't ready to make sure important decisions about my life.

I'm currently still enjoying the self employed life. I travel a lot and spend about half of my time in Edinburgh, with the other half down in Suffolk. When I'm not there, I'm in various other places in the UK and Ireland, usually work related in some way. It'll most likely be a tattoo convention, or to make stupid videos with my good friend and band member.

I don't take life seriously and am absolutely all about doing what makes me happy in life. You only have one life and you're always going to be getting on somebody's nerves, so just please yourself!

PHILOSOPHY

I'm an existential nihilist looking to disprove my belief. Que sera, sera.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've had my couch set to available ever since I joined the site, but I have very little interest in people coming to stay. I guess not many people want to go on holiday to Suffolk. There's not much here, if I'm honest. I'm moving to Edinburgh soon and will have a nice flat there and am sure I'll have more interest when I do. Hooray!

I've not been able to travel for just leisure in a very long time and so I've been unable to couch surf on the grounds that I wouldn't have had time to hang out and do fun things, but I've got some upcoming trips that'll be for leisure, so I hope to meet some interesting people on my travels over the summer!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A small amount. I found out about this website from my friend, Robbie. He travelled around the entire USA on his motorbike a couple of years back and just used CS to find places to sleep! That's pretty cool, I have to say! One day, I hope to do something similar. Maybe summer 2014?

Interests

Music, books, philosophy, nature, cool buildings, animals, talking, camping, singing, food, physics, biology, maths, psychology.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love movies with sad endings. They make me feel more alive and allow me to connect with the movie better. I am open to listen to most genres of music, but don't ask me about popular culture. I don't own a TV, and don't watch TV online. I don't read newspapers or magazines, so I know less and less of these famous people each day. It's great. I do like some pop music, but there is little chance I'll hear it. I don't listen to the radio. I listen to music that people want to show me, or happen to be playing if I'm at their house, or in their car. I love rock 'n' roll, progressive rock, anything philosophical or insightful. I also like classical. Moonlight Sonata is my favourite "song" at the moment. As far as books go, I love Dawkins and Palahniuk. I love books about biology, too. Mostly, I love books about psychology and philosophy. Some books I love are Invisible Monsters, The God Delusion and Ishmael. I am currently reading My Ishmael and will read The Selfish Gene, next. If you can suggest any good books, please let me know!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Life isn't about going to school to get a job, to retire and then to begin living. Begin living as soon as you can and the rest should follow. The most amazing thing that I've done is to learn the importance of this. You don't have to be rich to be happy. You can be very poor and be happy.

Teach, Learn, Share

Wow. This is really hard for me to think about. I really have no idea what to put here! I guess it would be different for different people. I could help some people with academic things, like maths. I could help others with ethical things, like my opinions on how things could be done better in the world. I don't really think that I could sum anything up here. I guess that my knowledge would come out in a conversation with another person, and what I can learn from another person would also come out in a conversation. Let's see. The most important person in your world has got to be you, first and foremost. You can never truly say that you love another until you know how to love yourself first. So, let's learn to do this, together!
