It was 2017. I had just graduated from University, and started working in a consulting firm. Fancy job in a fancy office space, hustling through the week - I felt out of place. There had to be more to life than just this. I wanted to meet people with different backgrounds, cultures and experiences. That's when I decided to go on a solo hitchhiking trip and had my first Couchsurfing experience.

Today, I love spending my time dancing Argentine Tango, Kizomba and Bachata, reading interesting books, writing, riding my motorcycle, traveling and having meaningful conversations. Over the past several years, I've engaged in deep heartfelt conversations with hundreds of people across the world, thanks to my work as a transformational coach. While travel is something I enjoy for it's own sake, often it's the people we travel with that make all the difference - the richness and diversity of experience that puts into question my own cultural conditionings is something priceless.

In one of my favorite books, Finite and Infinite Games, the author writes, "When I am touched, I am touched only as the person I am behind all the theatrical masks, but at the same time I am changed from within - and whoever touches me is touched as well."

When two people meet authentically, they both add something to each other, and their lives are not the same after. And for me, that's what Couchsurfing enables - touching and being touched beyond the boundaries of economics, culture and society.
