About Me

CURRENT MISSION

catch up on all the adventuring I haven't done in the past 25 years

ABOUT ME

I dream about going everywhere and knowing everyone, but I've lived quite a sheltered life in my quaint Virginia town. If I could have my way, I'd live by the sea and spend the days in the sun.

PHILOSOPHY

“For to be free is not merely to cast off one's chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.” -Nelson Mandela

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host when my schedule allows me to. Usually I will try to take my couchsurfers out around the area if I can. I live in an area where there are a lot of different food options so I'm usually available to recommend places to eat, if not taking them there myself.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I host whenever my schedule allows me to and when I'm in the area. I have had limited couchsurfing experience and only in the US and Philippines. One of these days I'll hit a few other countries and maybe take the opportunity to couchsurf with my previous couchsurfers.

Interests

scuba diving, movies, reading, traveling, adventures, snorkeling, searching for the perfect meal, evolution, clubs, cooking- baking especially, dinner parties, k-dramas

Music, Movies, and Books

City of Lost Children, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Secretary. I'll see almost everything from independent films, documentaries to really horribly, bad B movies and cheesy predictable romances to indie films and documentaries. I love a good (or bad) zombie movie.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I received a fellowship to go to the Philippines for almost a year. It was like opening a doorway to what life is like for some both good and bad, and what it should be like, an adventure every day- from talking to someone new to swimming with the fishes.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm not a particularly skilled person when it comes to say... martial arts or any sort of talent that requires hand-eye coordination, but I make up for it with "effort" or at least entertaining stories about how I've botched it up. I can also offer my decent skills in the kitchen. While I am no chef, my cooking is edible, inventive and even decent. Just ask my dinner party guests!
