About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meet interesting people, learn some new ideas, and make a positive impact on the world.

ABOUT ME

I am a DIY type of gal. My husband and I have been working on building our home for the past two years, from plumbing and electrical to stone-work and painting. I believe the term "home-maker" is a compliment, especially when one has literally built their home from scratch.

PHILOSOPHY

One can never know too much.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not much into US-made movies and I've been to the theater maybe 5 times in the last decade. I love foreign films, especially from Asian countries and France.
I enjoy different music depending on my activity. I rarely listen to music and sit still. Jazz, classical, jam bands, and classic rock are some of my favorites. I can sing some serious nursery rhymes, too. I have read too many books to count and love to read all sorts, including classics, new trend books, self-help books, and non-fiction books that teach me something new. I'm an avid library visitor.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I ran into 33 degree (F) water in Vermont to support the Special Olympics and shaved my head to support St. Baldrick's Cancer Foundation. I'm currently building our home with my husband. We started with an old barn, built in 1906, and have put in all the plumbing, electric work, heating systems, tile work, sheet rock, insulation, and paint. The work-in-process should be done in 2016.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to cook, knit, sew, garden (and make crafty foods like sauerkraut and jam), and read.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A love of food, good music, animals, and travel experiences.
