About Me

My name is Rita and I've always wanted to travel the world. I enjoy meeting new people and going on adventures. I hope to venture out of my comfort zone and explore new continents, as well as meet individuals from all over.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've heard very positive things from other people that have used CS. And what better way than to truly immerse yourself into a new place than by connecting with individuals of that area. I want to take away more than just pretty pictures of landscapes... I also want the memories and connections created with others.

Interests

I'm always interested in exploring new hobbies. Through the years I've picked up different interests; anything from playing a new instrument to learning how to read braille. However, I never keep at it long enough to be good. But I'm always excited to share the things I've learned with others.

The beach and the woods are my two favorite places. I'm big into water sports like Skimboarding, but also love camping.

Music, Movies, and Books

My taste in music bounces around a lot! One second I could be jamming to Bob Marley, then frolicking to the sounds of people yodeling, even headbanging to metal at times. I'm also a fan of country music.

Movies... I like to watch them.. but don't watch enough of it. I have no idea what movie anyone is ever talking about... Story of my life. :(

Currently Reading: "Welcome to the Monkey House" By Kurt Vonnegut

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My first trip outside of the states was to South Africa... and I went alone. I went outside of my comfort zone, and I'm very proud of myself for it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you Spanish. I'm no expert at juggling, but I can teach you the basics. Besides, where there's a will, there's a way. :)
And I'm always willing to learn new things!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I don't like coffee, but apparently I make a pretty good Cuban coffee.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Iceland, Indonesia, Italy, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Taiwan

Countries I’ve Lived In

Cuba
