About Me

I'm an open-minded, curious person who loves to explore, meet new people, and learn about the world.

I was born in Moscow, Russia but immigrated to the U.S. with my parents when I was 3. I grew up speaking both English and Russian and minored in French in college.

This summer, I'm backpacking around Europe—visiting friends, checking out MFA programs, finding work-trade opportunities, and making art.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people. I think the best way to see a new place is through the eyes of a local, so I always value those connections.

Interests

I love to hear people's stories and share them with others in meaningful ways, whether that be through writing, photography, video, music, or another medium.

I've recently been learning more about holistic health and sustainable/regenerative living and am hoping to dive in deeper.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm constantly seeking out new music, but here are some of my longstanding faves: Joni Mitchell, The Weather Station, Laura Marling, Feist, Sufjan Stevens, Bonobo, Lana Del Rey, Johnny Cash, Patrick Watson, Amen Dunes, Blood Orange, Erykah Badu, Princess Nokia, SZA, Holy Hive

Currently reading How to Change Your Mind by Michael Pollen.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveled in Costa Rica for 3 months in 2015 (my first real solo travel), working at a chocolate farm and eco-hostel, meeting incredible people, and learning more about permaculture, holistic health, and sustainable living.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you Russian or basic French. I can also teach you some guitar chords or basic photography skills. Or I can just share a song or some artwork :-)

I would love to get better at French and Spanish, and I'm always looking to learn new recipes.
