About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To enjoy life

ABOUT ME

I spent all of my professional career working with older adults in active community centers and continuing education programs and I am now putting to use all of the lessons I have learned from so many wonderful and wise role models. I stay active and involved in my community. My husband and I have helped International students at the University of Oregon for over 20 years. we love to travel and hike and bicycle.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that if we get to know people who are different than ourselves the world will be a better, more compassionate and happier place to live.

Music, Movies, and Books

Too many to list. Mostly novels, but occasional non-fiction as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have used needlework in countries I've travelled to as an immediate way to sit in a park and meet people. It is a universal bonding thing and a great way to practice language.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have learned many lessons from years of working with older adults. 1. It is essential to have friends of all ages and never limit yourself to your peer group. 2. No matter how much you enjoy doing things with your spouse/partner you need to do things with other people and also by yourself. You need to have passtimes that are group oriented, and things you love to do alone. Life is full or richness and variety!

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Guatemala, Hungary, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Russian Federation

Countries I’ve Lived In
