About Me

Tricky thing to talk about yourself, hein... But, oh well, I'm a fun, creative person who loves to travel, read, hike, ride a bike and cook!

I make a wonderful cheese bread and I grow my own herbs by the window! I like to photograph with disposable cameras and I love the surprise when I get the pictures, because I never remember what I shot.

I love to hear people's stories, learn new facts, taste new food, know new people, meet old friends. And oh hey... the might as well be all connected =D

Have I told you about my cheese bread?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hmmmm read all of the above?

Interests

I love to hike, write, chat and learn. We have this experssion in Portugal that says something like "an old donkey doesn't learn languages" (probably the equivalent to "you can’t teach an old dog new tricks")and I can definitely say that learning languages has become harder with the years, but my day always gets brighter if I'm learning something new.

I really like to listen to people and I must apologize in advance for all the questions I might ask you... it's just that every story is an amazing story!

I am currently exploring photography and multimedia creation and icelandic knitting (I'm working on a lopapeysa sweater).

Music, Movies, and Books

I am the worse person to be asked "what is your favourite...?" because I really have a hard time finding my top-only-one-favourite thing. I can only tell you with absolute sure about my favourite ice cream flavour, but it ends there.

As for everything else... I just don't like music that doesn't allow me to think at the same time or music that is so repetitive that I can't stop thinking. I love fantasy books (like Harry Potter) and non-fiction, history books. I love easy-cheesy-comedy movies, cry-all-day movies, this-sh*t-really-happened movies and so-deep-I-didn't-get-anything movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, I actually have this whole world to experience, but I think I'm lucky enough to hold some dear moments in my memory.

I've had nachos with home made tzatziki at the top of a volcano and I've knitted on an iceberg - tiny one, though. I've swum under the snow and hiked under the threat of snow avalanche. I've traveled alone to places where I wasn't suppose to and I loved it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach how to cook quite a few things, from quite a nice range of international dishes. I can teach you some Portuguese and I can to teach you Tarzan-Polish (which is the Polish I speak). I can also share with you some knowledge about creative recycling (my flatmate hates how I keep all the garbage to transform it later).

I'd love to learn anything you might have to teach me because, as I said, my day always gets brighter with something new to learn. Full disclosure: I get very excited with very simple things. I totally love to learn new languages, as I believe that's one of the most important things to understand each other (when you learn the language you don't learn the words only.. but the history, the culture, the context), so I'd be keen to learn about your language also.

What I Can Share with Hosts

All of the above + hopefully, some great story to tell :)
