About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To make the world a more fun, interesting and loving place to live

ABOUT ME

I am a free spirit and hate to be tied down to things, but somehow in life that often is not a choice. I have a nice home and share my home with an assortment of 4 legged friends, so if you are allergic to, or don't like dogs, don't request a couch! I love travelling and hope to do more of it in the future - couchsurfing is such a great way to travel the world in a friendly and economic way. I love music, especially live music. Spending time with friends is my favourite activity, especially if this is combined with eating and drinking! I think it is important to live each day to the fullest, and appreciate all you have in the world - it is harder to do than to say it though.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe we should put at least as much into the world as we take out of it. Love, kindness and humour are essential, as well as generosity and caring for the planet. I dont always get it right - I am only human after all!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am offering my lounge sofas - one of them is more suitable for someone short! It is helpful if surfers provide their own bedding/ towels etc, but I know this is not always possible when traveling and will provide them if necessary. If I have free bedrooms I am happy to offer these as well.
We have a nice CS group in Bournemouth, but I don't often get to meetings and events - must try harder!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had my first couchsurfing experience in Copacabana at new year 2009/2010 - what a great experience! During my 6 month trip to Brazil I have experienced such generosity, friendship and kindness particularly from fellow CSers, the least I can do is pass it on. I have hosted on quite a few occasions and look forward to welcoming more travelers to my home.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am on the threshold of an amazing adventure and so far the best experience I have had is NYE on Copacabana, staying to watch the sun rise, then watching the sunset from Ipanema beach, with my CS friends.

I hope that if others come to share my couch I can offer some of my life skills and knowledge that will make a difference
