ABOUT ME

Gay couple longtime together, finally marrying after 30 years and have two distinct personality which compliment each other. Very much like in meeting people from all walks of life. Truly open-minded, quite fun loving and love to experience different things. Ritchie loves experimenting in the kitchen and loves new and different ideas from all who cares to share. JP with his time off loves to explore and experience new challenges. Hosting couchsurfers allows us these great experiences.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

It is nice to give a part of yourself, to tend to the needs of others. Many times in our travels we have been shown kindness and gratitude. Couchsurfing allows us to give a little back to all the help we had received. It is a uniquely great experience to learn from others from their perspective and lives.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Before we knew, heard, or experienced couchsurfing as it is today, we experienced a "mock" trial of it when we stayed on our friends couch in Paris, and also had unknowingly, hosted students from Turkey for weeks and months in our hometown thought then it would be great if one person after another opened their lives to travellers, low and behold we get "CouchSurfing. Our first real experience or "test" was when we got a request from our first travellers, still a bit unsure of the whole concept, but we decided to take them in anyway since they had contacted us, and also being from my part of the country how could one say "NO". One night turned into 2 and a lift for them to travel on and after that we were hooked. Gives one a good feeling when able to do something as small as open your door.

Intereses

Outside of work, we truly enjoy the outdoors, JP loves gardening Ritchie is getting into it slowly, we both enjoy meeting interesting people and sharing experiences. Ritchie is always up to trying anything new especially recipe ideas and cooking.

First Contact!! A statement used quite often but has a powerful meaning. Our first contact was actually pre coucsurfing when the internet was not as advanced as it is today but meeting online with people and actually venturing out to do a face to face meeting. Our first experience was in Paris with friends we met via internet (just words not like today) stayed with them for a month had a very excellent experience and stay, also a few years later in Brazil again to meet friends. The first contact after having exchanged via the internet when you meet a person makes it all worthwhile.
