About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To create a ripple effect in the world.

ABOUT ME

Wow, where to start. So basically I've been traveling since I was 18, absolutely loved it. I'm literally one of those people who doesn't live to travel, but travels to live. I know its a cliche, but it truly keeps me breathing.

Like I said, I started traveling at 18, but that's also when life really started. I was going to school full time and got into my human resources program at uni, but to pay the bills I was also holding down a full time job. Doing both definitely grilled me over 5 years, I literally had no time for myself or anyone else, and those 3 weeks of vacation a year was what kept me sane. The day after I graduated I got promoted to general manager at my work place. Amazing right...that's what I thought.

Two years later I was an over worked, under paid, stressed out, no social life, zombie, living under an hour to hour schedule. I barely had time for friends an family, was working 60+ hours a week, and was feeling pressures from everywhere.

So....after thinking about it non stop and needing an escape, I decided enough was enough. I quit my job, I sold my place, I said bye to everyone, and bought a ticket around the world...and that's what brings me here :) Oh and then to truly make me feel free and create a new beginning, I decided I needed to get rid of the only thing I have had with me my entire life...and so I shaved my head. Best decision I ever made! So when you see me, lol, I will have very very very short hair and will most likely be talking non stop!

Update Jan 2012 - Well I knew backpacking around the world would eventually come to an end. It was an incredible year and I met the the greatest people, had the greatest time, and will probably talk about it for a few lifetimes. I did go home to Canada and try to get back to real life. Sigh.. I tried. Long story short, there really is no going back. Once you've opened that door way you need to keep moving. SO currently I am living and working in South Korea! Continuing to travel, and creating new memories every step of the way

Update Jan 2013 - One year of living and working in South Korea and loving every minute of it! The culture, the people, the food, I love just about everything in this country! Looks like I will be sticking around for a bit longer and perfecting my Korean!!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Like I mentioned I am new to this site, but I have met a few people randomly, sharing stories and making new friends is what this site is all about :) I started travelling in September 2010 well technically it was way before that, but this is when I started my trip around the world. So far I have done all of India, and Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, England, Germany, Holland, Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, Austria and South Korea. I have also been to Peru, most of the Caribbean, British Columbia, and of course know Toronto very well :).

I'm hoping to hit every country at least once :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have to admit I was very nervous and apprehensive when I first started doing this. I was worried about all the guys on the site, what if there were crazy people, would I feel safe etc...

Now I am a true believer. The people I have met on this site are some of the nicest, warm hearted, genuine, funny, sweet, charming, down to earth, reliable, honest, fun, understanding, open, and exceptional people I have met in my life. My views on the world and traveling have changed so much...and my trips have become so much more special due to the people I have met. I cannot even begin to express how wonderful couch surfing is, I'm going to be some sort of brand ambassador now and tell everyone about it. It was beyond what I could have imagined and I cannot think of traveling any other way :)

Interests

I love to travel (obviously), I'm a fan of eating pizza, drinking beer, sitting on a beach, playing video games, playing poker, playing pool, buying shoes, watching sports, dancing to MJ, people watching, taking naps, eating too much spaghetti, reading, writing, spending countless hours in the sun, wasting time on random websites, taking random pictures, and laughing :)
