About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn, to dance, to be free.

ABOUT ME

I love to read, also to dance, and I have a bit of a crush on Spanish culture. I love learning new skills, and am currently trying to master the hula hoop.
If my having a CS profile hasn't already given you the heads up; I love to travel, meet new people, and experience new things.
I was aspiring to be a teacher, but I am one.
I'm a teacher, a student, a scientist, a philosopher, an explorer, a journalist, a spiritualist, a linguist, an artist...
I'm on my gap year and people seem to expect me to study to become something, but I've realised that I can study the world, indulge myself in any information I want, first hand and without stress, enabling me to be whatever I want to be - enabling me to be happy.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm still growing spiritually, but I think it's fair to say my philosophy would be Peace.
"You don't have a soul, you are a soul. You have a body." - C. S. Lewis

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Travellers are a special type of people. They're generous, open, adventurous, and curious.
“The traveller was active; he went strenuously in search of people, of adventure, of experience. The tourist is passive; he expects interesting things to happen to him. He goes 'sight-seeing'.” – Daniel J. Boorstin
It can be easy to forget that, and to get lost in day-to-day life when you're back in your home city, CouchSurfing can keep the traveller in you alive, and help feed that hunger which our pockets can't always afford to feed with overseas travel.
On the other hand, when you're travelling, it opens you up to a global community of travellers who welcome you into their city, or explore a new one by your side.
I'm still experiencing, but the CouchSurfing community is definitely a warm and friendly one who can help you find home no matter where you are.

Interests

I like languages, although I'm currently only fluent in English. I like books. A lot.
I also love to dance, the theatre, going sailing, and I enjoy wearing my hiking boots so I can stomp around in mud and feel awesome. I also appreciate seriously spicy food.

Music, Movies, and Books

If I was a fish, books would be my water. I'm talking classical, modern, poetry, plays, non-fiction, fiction, you name it. Therefore, I won't get into all the books I love and would recommend, save for one; The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson.
As for music, I like dubstep and dnb, but really my music tastes are circumstantial to my mood and reasonably eclectic. However I will dance to anything. Really.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I volunteered in the Peruvian jungle for a month and a half. I can't tell you how amazing that was.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love meeting new people, any kind of person. Some of the best conversations and craziest shenanigans I've had have been with complete strangers.
As for teaching and learning, I believe some of the most important lessons aren't anticipated, but I can probably share a few hula hoop tricks and how to steer a yacht =]

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, France, Italy, Peru, Thailand, United Kingdom, Vanuatu
