About Me

CURRENT MISSION

living gently on the earth; learning, exploring....never being limited by not having enough...

ABOUT ME

We spend summers in Nova Scotia, winters in Mexico. Our grown up kids are scattered.
Our great pleasures are in friends & family, travel with a purpose, reading, theatre, music, art, architecture, poking about in the garden, sharing good meals, renovating old buildings.

PHILOSOPHY

Currently we are both involved in the "Occupy Wall St." movement; learning, analyzing, communicating; hopefully leaving a less materialistic life; cherishing the planet.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting travellers to our part of the world by offering short-stay accommodation, insights into local life, landmarks, and events. Opportunities to meet new people, explore a different life style.

We speak French and Spanish, love to practice.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We host travellers to Nova Scotia in summer time. So far we have couch-surfed in the US, England, Ireland, and Spain. The opportunity to share family life in a foreign country, albeit briefly, has totally enriched our travel experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books

Dave: historical, maritime and literature about the environment.
Jo: contemporary novels and political commentary.
Our musical tastes are eclectic, but mostly in favour of classical and jazz.
Movies: European & Latin American films, independent films, (almost anything not Hollywood!)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Most amazing are the wonderful people we've encountered wherever we've travelled.

Teach, Learn, Share

We've had great experiences with a wide range of people. We host couch-surfers at our summer home in Nova Scotia, where we can kick back, cook, and have long conversations over a shared meal.
