Overview
About Me
I'm a semi-Southern girl (my mom's from here but my dad is from Wisconsin) and I love to travel and meet new people. I'm kinda a loner sometimes, but i enjoy the company of people who like to talk about all kinds of things and aren't afraid to open up...I love playing basketball and going kayaking/canoeing in the summer, and I'm married to the most wonderful man with whom I enjoy all sorts of fun hobbies like wakeboarding, skiing, rock climbing and hunting.

Teach, Learn, Share
If you want to host people, be a good guest--here's a few guidelines taken from my mom's lessons:
1. Form your schedule to fit that of your host. They have a life and responsibilities--don't make your presence an inconvenience.
2. Clean up after yourself!! Leave every part of their living space better than you found it.
3. Offer to help with daily tasks/chores. You aren't paying to stay there, so make up some of the difference.
4. Gifts are always a nice gesture--depending on where you are, some chocolates or fresh fruit, flowers, a bottle of wine, etc. Some small gesture of gratitude goes a long way.
5. Make good conversation. This is what we are all looking for in a guest and host--it's the best part of Couchsurfing! So build up your store of interesting topics, and have CONVERSATION not debates =)
NOTE: some people love being hosts and don't want you to do anything except enjoy yourself--if they tell you to do this, do it! Enjoy yourself and watch them enjoy hosting you.
