About Me

CURRENT MISSION

live!

ABOUT ME

Love to listen to the silence, see trees growing and raindrops falling and snowflakes floating and sunlight changing everything.

PHILOSOPHY

Be conscious, live now. Accept all that comes and goes, listen carefully, give help when needed.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Communicating with CouchSurfers who were hosted by my flatmates. CS in Turkey - brilliant experience. I could not imagine it could ever be so nice - that people you meet may bring so much joy and music into your journey.

Interests

Natural way of living, grow plants and trees, dreaming of my own house & backyard. Yoga, qigong, trekking, slack-lining, footbag - all ways of healthy living and making body and mind act joyfully together.

Also I like to perceive the music and play percussion a little.

Backpacker traveling is another huge interest. Love to stay in a tent in some quiet place in the nature, away from people and civilization (though technical things like a warm sleeping bag, a waterproof camping tent and clothes, gas stove etc. help a lot to enjoy nature ;) Traveled a lot through my beloved Carpathian mountains, some in Crimea & Caucasian mountains - and try to never miss a chance to get into the wild again.

Snowboarding (first, skiing) is also great interest, esp. freeride runs in places where no one is riding regularly. Trekking and camping in winter mountains is another very special thing. People that you meet there are unique.

Used to play ultimate frisbee and liked it. Liked skuba-diving (got a PADI certificate), but freediving even more - for overwhelming feeling of freedom in beautiful underwater world.

Generally more interested in personal communication with local people and visiting nature sites than seeing archaeological ruins or urban architecture from-inside of a huge tourist group

Music, Movies, and Books

Indian music - fantastic, Turkish music - high-spirited and soul-touching, European early music - delicate and beautiful, African "one-stick-two-strings" compositions - so positive :) Depth & journey by VddG, Rush, Yes. Freedom by Sigur Ros. Drive by Iron Maiden. Amazing concerts of Możdżer, Danielsson, and Fresco.

Used to read a lot of books, mostly sci-fi. Now I read less, usually professional reading. Recently enjoyed Iain M. Banks with his "Player of Games" and plan to continue his Culture series. From past reading - Hesse, Dostoevsky, Remarque, Lorca, Marquez, Pavich, Durrell, O. Henry, Krishnamurti, Tibetan Dalai-Lama, Osho.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Giving birth and then looking into my newborn daughter's eyes :)
Jumping with parachute
'Flying' on snowboard downhill through fresh deep powder
