ABOUT ME

I'm a California native and an adopted Chicagoan. For the last 3 years I've been living in Prague, teaching English and traveling whenever my meager salary allowed. But I'm about to embark on a new adventure, one that will hopefully last a long, long time.

PHILOSOPHY

I like a little whimsy in my life. People tend take themselves too seriously and lose their childlike-wonder. I have a lot of wonder.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm about to lose my home base, so I won't be able to host anyone for awhile, but as I travel I hope to meet as many locals as possible. I'm interested in slow travel, which allows me to get a much better feel for each new place I visit. Couchsurfing plays a big part in this, whether it's actually staying with a local, or just meeting new friends who have tips to share.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music and film tastes are both very eclectic; I like a little of everything. For books: you can't go wrong if the author's name is Vonnegut, Robbins, Rushdie or Dahl.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

While I'm still new to couchsurfing, I did participate with WWOOF (world wide opportunities on organic farms) when I was younger. I stayed with a young couple in Quebec for a month, and had an incredible time.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am an experienced and certified English teacher, so I am happy to help my hosts and new friends with their English! Obviously I can offer plenty of conversation, but if you're confused about grammar or vocabulary I am a great resource!
