About Me

Hi, I'm Riza. I'm 24 years old. I was born on Madura island in Indonesia. Now I work as a Language Assistant in Perth, Western Australia.

I've always wanted to travel the world. I believe traveling will make me a better person. It will open my mind about many things, thus making me become more understanding. Traveling is also a way to admire His creations.

I love learning new languages and cultures. These are things that you can learn any where, but it's best to immerse yourself in the language and culture by being in the country/area where the language is spoken and the culture is.... what's the word... practiced? What amazes me is, surprisingly, learning about different languages and culture enables you to learn more about your OWN language and culture.

Obviously, there are many people out there who love the things I love. Many people are into traveling, languages and cultures as well, but I can think of at least two things that not many people have in common with me. And when I find people who also love these two things, I just feel so happy and lucky because they are kind of rare, you know. Now, it does not mean that I'm not happy to meet people who have different interests, I'm just saying that..... well, I'm sure you know what I mean.

Anyway, these two things are:
1. Postcrossing
2. Musicals

So if you're into postcrossing and musicals, I'm more than happy to talk about musicals and to exchange postcards with you. I am no expert in musicals, but I really enjoy them :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couchsurfing because:

1. I love meeting up with people and living with a local host family because you can learn more from them about their language, culture, and other things.
2. I love making friends with people from different backgrounds.

I believe you're only going to make the most of your travel by interacting with people.
