About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm a PhD student in Astrophysics at Aalto University.

ABOUT ME

I am a friendly and warm person. I have studied different things. First, I did a specialised degree in Mechatronics (something between a bachelor and a master, likewise the Russian specialised degree). Then, I did a master degree in Science-Astronomy because it was like my hobby and passion. Now, I am a doctoral candidate in space physics, so it is like a mix of my previous studies. ;) Changing the topic, I love to know new places around the world, I have traveled around many latin and european countries, so I do hope to travel to Africa, Asia, and Oceania soon. One of the funniest travels I have had so far was a non-paid instance in the Republic of Armenia, where I met a lot of new friends and learnt about this amazing caucasian culture.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

One Armenian friend invited me to participate in the Couchsurfers meetings in Yerevan, Armenia. And from that moment I liked the good connections I could get from people in those meetings. Then I just decided to create my profile and attend the events this community has in Yerevan, Espoo, and so on.

Interests

I do love travelling, I think that it breaks many pre-conceptions we have about life, and other countries, travelling makes us to be a better version of ourselves. I also like to teach Astronomy, so just ask me if you want I make you see the stars as you have never seen them before. I play video games, mostly World of Warcraft, and Hearthstone. I jog every now and then, making some marathons when I decide to train in a serious way. Actually, I run the half marathon of Bogotá in 2015, when traveled to my motherland.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a lot Mika, Tom Waits, Julieta Venegas, and Tribalistas. And yes as a good latin I do dance salsa and regaetton.

I have read a couple of times The Lord of the Rings, and Harry Potter, also I'm reading A song of fire and ice (Game of Thrones).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have lived one year in an ex-sovietic former country, the Republic of Armenia, without any knowledge of Armenian or Russian. :D :D And the best, I managed to make friends there. ;)

I also have a time of 2h:03m in a Half Marathon. But with the idea of going below the 2h:00m soon.

Teach, Learn, Share

I do like to teach about Astronomy: the constellations, the importance of this science in the human development and our place in the universe.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm very friendly, so people can always enjoy a good talk with me. I think that the social interaction is one of the most fascinating aspects of this group, Couchsurfing is not only about finding free places to stay or to host, but about meeting new and interesting people.
