About Me

CURRENT MISSION

i'll tell you when i tell you

ABOUT ME

I'm very intense. I'm judo a kara te.

PHILOSOPHY

1. when in doubt, run.
2. life's best enjoyed in slow motion.
3. dont waste time.
4. depart early than late.
5. if it feels right, book the flights.
6. nothing is permanent.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Im trying to strike a balance between hosting and surfing. Its a competition against myself.

I must win.

Updated on 20th Feb - 2015: People -> Its uncool to send generic couch requests. I've even started receiving requests addressed to other people (clearly a poor cut copy paste job). Because of this reason, I'm going to not respond to generic requests. If you want me to host you, please engage me in something interesting. Atleast give me something that'll make me believe that you just dont want a free place to crash at in manhattan, although that is going to be any normal persons reason. So unless if you are steaming hot, please add a joke in your couch request which includes the words 'fuck off' in the setting of the joke. it is a task, i understand, but atleast that'll prove you bothered to read my profile. I live 3 blocks from times square. its worth thinking up that joke.
I'm currently travelling to Detroit every monday and I come back on Thursday nights. I may not be able to host you during the week. The weekend is precious and I'm happy to host then, so we can all celebrate together.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Its changed the way i plan my travel.

i dont plan anymore.

(but i do book flights in time)

Music, Movies, and Books

i like slow introspective movies. right now, i can think of only cashback, butterfly effect, color of paradise, amelie, godfather 1 and 3, the white balloon, melancholia, three colors, rachel getting married, tree of life.
actually i like fast movies too. the bourne series, the rocky series, et cetera. but given a choice, id choose a slow one over a fast one.

music - i dont think i comprehend music. its an innate inability to distinguish words with a tune playing in the background. so i resort to listening to wordless music. (not the regular jazz ((the kinds they play in flights and airport lounges)) but more like instrumental). and i (read: drunk me) also enjoy trans.

books: i used to read only english authors. but nowadays i read only indian and japanese authors. my favorites include murakami, arundhati roy, vikram seth. im a slow reader. i often reread pages because my attention span is low. as a direct consequence, it takes me really long to complete books. but thats irrelevant.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

lived with gypsies in a village in czech republic, ate ox tongue in south korea, defeated a hooker at a game of snooker in cambodia (if you've been there, you'd know its not possible), red shirt protest in thailand, learnt voodoo in cheung chau, lived 28 years with little regret.

Teach, Learn, Share

teach: how to forget anything in 4 minutes.

learn: a bit of magic?

share: some pot? (yours, only)
