Old soul, great reader of books, pensive, acute harry potter fan, bedroom-side yoga-ist, early riser, digs the forest and wicky-wild ocean air, interested in all things healing arts, loves to talk, share, and hear stories, into good listening and deep conversations, eco-conscious, healthy food enthusiast, 5 rhythms dancer, loves to sing, still scared of the dark, loves a good dog, into riding my rad & old purple bike around the town, studious, loves a good beer ... and the beat goes on.
PHILOSOPHY
Still a work-in-progress!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
In 2011, I did my first CS tour and had a really great experience surfing with hosts from Israel to Turkey, Paris to Berlin. Eleven great hosts and eleven very different experiences!
Three years later, I am returning to do a little more surfing (not able to host just yet but I definitely want to when I hit the right space!). I am studying on Vancouver Island and am hoping to have some mini adventure trips while out here on this marvellous west coast!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
As I said above, I've had eleven positive surfing experiences. I am a big believer in going with 'vibes' you get from people (even off of a CS profile), and by following my gut, I have ended up with really wonderful hosts.
One of my favourite hosts was in Paris, France. As soon as I opened the door and laid eyes on him, and I KNEW it was going to be a good night. He made me some dinner (awesome, right?) and, both being interested in meditation/wellness/healing, spent the next few hours talking and sharing our experiences. I had a similar night with another host in Athens. We talked about The Alchemist and its myriad of themes and lessons for, like, three hours. Loved it.
I loved going out for a meal with my hosts (cow stomach soup in eastern Turkey, what what!) and having them share their city with me in some way. The majority of my hosts had jobs or school, so after we spent some time together, we would go off and do our own things for the day, and I totally dug that.
Interests
Ever since starting acupuncture school, my primary interests having definitely become healing dominated hahaha :) Yoga, breath work, chinese medicine, food as medicine, foot reflexology, western herbs, psychology, meditation, qi gong, movement body work: you name it, and I want to hear about it!
After spending some time WWOOFing and living with home gardeners, I've also started getting way more interested in farming, growing food and herbs etc. I also am really into watching certain sports ie. THE WORLD CUP. For some reason, I just love love love it.
I'm also into cooking, documentaries, drumming (new goal). Yoga, meditation, 5Rhythms dance? Pretty sure I already said those things...
