CURRENT MISSION

To sail to Europe

PHILOSOPHY

To always remember this is mankind's Golden Age, as sad as that might sound, and to act on that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met an outgoing character at a convenience store (soon to be a friend) when my wife and I moved from Pahoa to Kailua-Kona (Hawai'i) a couple of months from when we were due to return stateside. We had no place to stay and he offered to let us stay for a few days in his Pacific-view condo. We slept on their lanai (balcony) for a few nights and I offered to pay them weekly for the inconvenience of us staying longer, and they accepted. We stayed there 9 weeks, walking distance to everything downtown, the bayfront, stores, free bus (for cruise-ship arrivees, though they never asked us) to bigger stores.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sitting on my board waiting for a wave, seeing the sun shine on the observatories on top of snow-capped Mauna Kea, while a whale was leaping with joy behind me.
