Chi sono

CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is to finish my undergrad before I'm too old!! Travel and work or volunteer abroad. For now, I'm working on going on exchange to England and Singapore while hoping to have my first couch surfing experience traveling around SEA!!

ABOUT ME

I am a 4th year student at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, BC Canada. I'm studying International Development and have yet to travel to half the countries I aspire! My current mission is to travel around the very beautiful and culturally diverse Southeast Asia while I'm on exchange at the National University of Singapore!

PHILOSOPHY

I try to live life optimistically, I love being happy, I love being free. One of the most beautiful things in life is when someone can make you happy, when someone can make you smile or laugh. And when you can have the same effect on other. I value a great friendship, and I think happiness is priceless.

Some say I trust too easily. Others say I forgive to easily. But I think being angry, sad, upset, pessimistic, holding grudges and being fearful - especially when it comes to superficial things- is a waste of living.

I also believe that one should grateful for everything they have and have had the opportunity to experience. So many people do not have these opportunities, and never will.

Interessi

Visiting/Seeing villages, the country side, and farms especially in Asia. Experiences different cultures, listening to different languages. Trying to become fluent in Spanish. Meeting crazy life driven people. Talking. Sitting by the river. Drinking red wine. Sitting in a British pub drinking a pint of carlsburg during a heated football match. Travelling, traveling, traveling. Meeting cool locals. Being taught how to cook interesting dishes. Cooking. Listening to music. Trekking through jungles. Going on adventures. White water rafting. Meeting nice people.
Living life. Helping people. Watching movies. Having BBQs. Playing with my little cousins and watching them grow up. Thinking about life. Being with good friends. Being with good company.

Musica, film e libri

The End of Poverty , White Man's Burden, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Count of Monte Cristo -- Mmm many many movies from Horror, Comedy, Romantic Comedies. I'm not one for sad films or cheesy comedies.

LOVE LOVE LOVE theatre - especially Phantom of the Opera!

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

Having survived a 35K trek in what felt like the deserts Myanmar (Burma) in 45C weather and spending the night midway at a monastery.

Myanmar: Spending time and speaking with local people. Visiting amazing temples, stupas, pagodas. Learning more about Buddhism. Supporting their small/private businesses, and eating at little local tea shops.

Going to watch and meeting the Moustache Brothers in Mandaley, Burma - local comedians and supporters of Aung San Suu Kyi who criticized the (oppressive) government and thus had to spend 7+ years in prison. They are an amazing family and could use more support especially in their old age now - Please Google their story: Moustache Brothers of Myanmar/Burma! http://www.moustachebrothers.com/

Trekking through the rice paddies and elephant riding through the jungles of Chang Mai. Visiting the hill tribes in the South of Chang Mai. Hanging out with local Thai's in Krabi -- having a drink & smoking (which i don't usually do) right on the beach.

Staying in the gorgeous country side in Cork, Ireland. Drinking and watching a Ireland football match with
local Irishmen and women. Eating home made Irish bread.

Going white water rafting in Vancouver.

Snorkling in Belize.

Laying on the beach in Tioman Island, Malaysia.
