About Me

Hi :)

Just to say I receive a lot of messages, I try to answer all of them, sorry if I can't leave you a private message.
I can't host more than 1 person, so please do not ask for groups.

I am Rémi, 28 years old French who currently lives in Madrid, originally from Toulouse.
I currently work in business coordination in the bread industry (yeah I know french and bread, right ?).

I am an insatiable traveler who visited the biggest part of Europe by now, and I will spend my summer discovering Chile, Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay, which has been a life-long dream.

I lived in 7 countries so far, and around 10 different cities, so moving a lot, and as you can guess I do have some stories to share (preferably with a beer).
I am in love with Spain and the Spanish culture, as I always seem to return to that country, but I am considering a move either to Argentina or to California in the foreseeable future to change from Europe. I would love to discover south east Asia at some point as well, as you can guess, I like to keep things moving.

I am very curious, about different cultures, different ways of living and thinking, different food, drinks and architecture. I am always up for a new travel, adventure, experience or anything exciting. As you might see on my interest, I love to learn and talk about a lot of different things.
I love to meet new people and share perspectives about life, this is probably one of the things I love most , that make me grow as a person, and I guess sleeping on a stranger's couch is a great way to do it.

Escribo aqui en ingles para que sea mas facil para la gente de Brazil, pero puedo enviar el texto en español si quieres.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I will be travelling in South America over the summer, and I would really love to have a local experience because I want to explore of course, but I am as well contemplating a move to Argentina for my future.
Hence I would like to see the "real Argentina" and not only hotel/hostel & going around with foreigners, to see if the country would be a good fit for me.

Even though I joined a long time ago, I never used it, so Couchsurfing is a new experience for me, and I am really looking forward to it. I usually travel to see friends, and that is my first long travel alone.
A lot of friends told me they had a great time doing it so here we go :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I have extremely eclectic tastes in music, I grew up with Classic & Jimmy Hendricks so that might explain some things.
I love Jazz, rap from the 90's, French Electro (French Touch), Yann Tiersen (check him out if you don't know him), Gainsbourg, rock, indie ...
it might be fun to put my playlist on random in a road trip as a lot of different things would pop up.

I am a cinema lover, I spent a great deal of time watching per director (Hitchcock, Lynch, W.Anderson, Cohen, Coppola, Audiard ...), I had my Asian cinema period where I devoured Korean, Japanese, HK and Taiwanese cinema for a few months. Then some French cinema, and I usually devour the top 100 of rotten tomatoes every year.
Currently I am enjoying Argentinian cinema, I guess that is one of the pull towards the country.

As for books, I enjoy mostly introspection books, learning things either about philosophy, psychology or about myself. I do enjoy some fantasy reading (Dune saga, Lotr) but I am more of a watcher than a reader.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climb a 10 meters high tower and jumped while having massive vertigo (seriously standing on a table is enough) to win an inter-company challenge with my team (and we did!).
Not only I did it once, but I even did another height -related challenge during that event, climbing 5 meters, running and jumping to catch a bar in the air.

I don't know if it sounds as amazing as all the moving around I've done and what I discovered, but it is the thing I'm the proudest I'd say.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn pretty much everything, I am extremely curious and I like to learn anything that people have to teach me, about them, about their life of their interests. I am very open minded.

As well I like to share my experience of the world and of life, and I can teach a few french beautiful swear words.
