ABOUT ME

I guess most people would say it's hard to sum up all their characteristics in such a narrow space. The truth is it's not. We tend to overcomplicate things. I'm straightforward and expect the same from other people. Generous to the extreme, I'll go out of my way to entertain guests or make them feel comfortable. I'm compulsive in everything I do: I work like a horse, eat a lot (although by some random genetic luck I manage to always stay thin haha), read everything from drug leaflets to cereal boxes and philosophical treaties and try to travel as much as one can (and his bosses allow).

My aim here at CouchSurfing is to host as many people as possible. I want to get in touch with different cultures and I would like to show surfers how diverse and interesting Rio can be.

Music: I'm in to all sorts of music. Recently, I've been listening a lot of MPB (Brazilian popular music), rap and electronic music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There is still a lot out there for me to see. I don't know what awaits me in the future. I'm still alive. Anything could happen.

. Hang-gliding in Rio, after jumping from a 550 meters tall mountain
. Driving a speed boat in the open sea
. Scubba diving in a plane crash site
. Visiting the El Escorial (I know, it´s just a monestary, but there is something about the place, its sobriety, calmness, which really caught my eye)
. Seeing the Pantheon (Rome) light up with the sunshine coming in from the oculus
. Watching the Sagrada Família church in Barcelona from the inside (it´s one of the most beautiful things ever designed by a man)
. Watching huge sand dunes being blown by the wind in a beach 300 km away from any major human settlement
. Learning how to dance samba
. Fishing in Brazil's wetlands, near the gators
. Watching São Paulo at night, from the 50th floor of a building (I know it's just a big city, but it's amazing with all the lights and noises; it's just like the city is something becoming alive)
. Seeing Prague's beautiful architecture
. Trekking in Selva di Val Gardena

Teach, Learn, Share

I've come to the conclusion that we waste too much time of our lives bullshiting and buttering up each other. This has led me to seek for truer and better experiences. In a nutshell: find out what you want to do, take the time you need to do it properly, and have fun doing it.

About Rio: Rio is a complex, multi-layer city. No where else in the world will you find European, African and Amerindian elements so intertwined. 12 million people live here, amidst slums and skyscrapers. It's as much incredible as it is overwhelming. I will not advise you to come prepared: it's utterly impossible to prepare yourself for what you are about to see. Just come and period.

About São Paulo: pollution, impossible car jams stretching for hundreds of kilometers, buildings lining up as far as you can see... This city is not for begginers. It's much bigger than New York, and in some ways more intimidating. But its people are hardworking, honest and polite. The museums, nightlife and cultural attractions are without par in Latin America (even in the whole southern hemisphere). So, if you want to see how the Brazilian version of a global city works, you should come and check it out.
