CURRENT MISSION

I want to travel across the country to CA and back before moving to NY.

ABOUT ME

I currently work at home running a web design company, but I also do some freelance photography on the side, shooting weddings, and doing product work and head-shots for small businesses.

I play guitar (poorly), and enjoy hiking, camping, jogging (5 days a week), and don't mind being a night owl. Mornings are definitely not for me, even if I go to bed early. I can cook, am handy with a computer, and enjoy going wherever my travels take me.

I'm looking to travel as much as possible while I'm still young and my income isn't location dependent. Hopefully over the next few months I can plan out a route across the USA, get my things in order, and leave my apartment and most of my belongings behind me.

I'v sort of romanticized the idea of starting my journey by getting onto a bus with two small bags and not looking back until I get to California. With a bit of hiking and camping, couch surfing and hostels, I think it'll be a fun trip.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have friends in various cities, but my favorite place so far has been a friend's place in New York. I spend a week or so staying at his place at least every other month, and I plan to move out there next year.

Interests

I enjoy computers, graphic design, photography, acoustic guitar and folksy music, cooking on a grill, hiking long distances for multiple days, and waking up without an alarm clock.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to just about any music but really like folksy stuff like Devendra Banhart and Lady Lamb The Bee Keeper, I'll watch anything but recent movies staring Nick Cage, and read quite a bit by a broad range of writers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I also started my own business two years ago. It's been an amazing journey in itself.

I'd really love to add to this list while I travel across the country.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a vast knowledge of Photoshop, Lightroom, and edit and touching up photos from working for a little over a year at a post-production and wedding album design company and am rather good at teaching other how to do various image editing type things.

I'm also good with PHP, and HTML / CSS, and can help people pick up various web related skills.
