ABOUT ME

I am an optimist, a writer, a Quaker, and I enjoy hearing stories from people with all sorts of experience. I also enjoy hearing jokes, especially bad ones, even if I've heard them before.

PHILOSOPHY

When I was a little girl, I always believed I should never have to do anything I didn't want to. When I got older I realized that this was true, but it was up to me to be creative enough to get away with doing what I wanted on my terms.

I work very hard to make sure that everything I do on a daily basis will better me as a person, or make the world a better place. I don't believe in wasting time, but the only way to waste time is to be unaware of how you are spending your time.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Mostly I use this site to meet people. For the last year I didn't have a house, although I did have coffee with some passers-by.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've met some people though couch surfing, I hope to meet more! I've only met people over coffee, I have yet to actually surf.

Interests

I am a writer. I write fiction, sometimes I write memoir or poetry, but often I write novel length fiction about people in strange or unworldly situations.

I also have lots of experience in film making. I've acted in short films and I've also directed, written and worked as a grip or assistant on some films.

I'm also interested in art, food politics, cultures, and world politics. I can make astrological charts, although I find interpreting them dull. I can also do tarot readings, mostly for fun, but you never know what might come up!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love movies with really fascinating behind the scenes features, like Jurassic Park, The Dark Crystal, Strings, and Hellboy. Anything with puppets or animatronics is worth watching.

I love all sorts of music in a variety of genre's. Some artist I'm particularly fond of are, David Bowie, Bob Dylan, They Might Be Giants, Talking Heads, Radio Head, The Flaming Lips, Old Crow Medicine Show, and Lady Gaga.

Books I like: Omnivores Dilemma by Michael Pollen, Worlds of Wonder by David Gerrold, Illusions by Richard Bach, Ishmael by Daniel Quinn. And Dune, I love Dune.

I love the poetry of Langston Hughes and John Donne.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I've ever done is pretty amazing. I mean, really. But you'll have to get to know me to hear all about it.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Sewing, Music (singing, violin, guitar), I'm very socially versatile, I know a lot about film making and story telling.

Learn: I would love to learn a second language. I hoping it will be Spanish. I also would love to learn more about sustainable and simple living as well as farming.

Share: I mentioned above that I do music. I love to jam with other musicians! I have lots of stories to tell, and I'm a good listener when stories are being told to me.
