ABOUT ME
Canadian born and bred Britisher, if that makes any sense. In short, raised in a small town in the Canadian forest by British ex-patriate scientists working at a nuclear research laboratory at the end of the Cold War. Following that, educated in medieval history by an Irish specialist in medieval Italy. My own specialties: classical and medieval Central Asia, and the history of race and identity... and risotto. Other tidbits about me: bike, sail, hike - guitar, piano, drums - chats about: useless trivia, politics, culture, history... and of course weirdness, or, as I like to call them, Slices of Life
PHILOSOPHY
If you can't have your cake and eat it too, what's the point of having it? But, moderation in all things, of course. Take a slice of life, and eat it.

Favourite Book (at the moment): Arundhati Roy's 'The God of Small Things'
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Spent many many summer days and nights lost amongst the bombed out ruins of the first hydro-electric dam in western Canada, built in 1905, shut down in 1950 and used for bombing practise during the Korean War.
