About Me

CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME

where to begin?....i was born and bred in toronto by southern italian parents. like many of their generation, they set out for the shores of 'america', envisioning it as holding the promise of a better life: electrodomestic appliances, two-car garages and manicured lawns. dissatisfied with the suburban dream of my parents, i started looking for my own shores early on. this led to an errant but entertaining life of travel for a few years, eventually leading to a business in importing and sales. that life is now a shed skin and i've hoisted my sails once again....this time to focus on the raising of my adored child

PHILOSOPHY

be kind and gentle with others, strive to respect differences, remain honest with myself. i could go on but the truth comes out in the wash as they say.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

live the spirit of tolerance and cultural exchange behind couchsurfing...be as helpful as I can to wayfarers

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

plenty of foreign couches, floors and beds over the years even though only a few within this community. have only had great experiences with CS hosts and guests.

Interests

in no particular order (the story of my life!)and by no means exhaustive...cycling, photography, music, film, reading ,cycling, writing, sharp turns at high speed, frisbee, travel, camping, cycling, meeting people, people watching, writing, hanging with friends, trekking, yoga, cycling, good food and drink, attending to the strange and subtle forces that underpin a life (turning off the autopilot).......did i mention cycling?

Music, Movies, and Books

i'm not big on lists and sitting in front of a keyboard for too long makes me feel as if my soul is slowly draining from me, so i will make this really short...

music....Acoustic to Zydeco...old and alt-country speaks to the melancholic in me.
film...wenders, scorcese, lynch, almodovar, kubrick, scott...it is an endless list
books....vonnegut, delillo...buddhism

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

so difficult to choose just one

Teach, Learn, Share

i want to learn to levitate and pass through walls. i know a little about a lot--we can work out the details when we get together. am presently working on travelling at the speed of light without spilling my coffee.
